Buildings and Land

The tithing of Lockeridge has the woodland area of West Woods as its neighbour.  The woods are situated 3 miles west of Marlborough covering 400 hectares and was purchased by the Forestry Commission in 1931.  The woodlands were replanted between 1933-1960's with 70% Beech and 30% other broad leaf trees.  The wood itself is famous for its carpet display of bluebells in the Springtime.
