The Church of St. John the Baptist

Built by Wiltshire's most prolific builder Bishop Roger of Sarum in 12th Century, the east end of the church has one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in the country.  The central tower is large, sturdy and elaborately ornamented.  In its interior, the crossing, chancel and transepts all display in their arcading and vaulting a wealth of 12th Century carved decoration.
